SENIOR STAFF EXPECTATIONS:
After completing the application, our staff will review the information you have sent and begin checking references. If you are selected for an interview after all references have been received, you will be contacted by e-mail and either a face-to-face or phone interview will be scheduled. We try to schedule an interview within two weeks of receiving your application. After conducting an interview, we will make and inform you of the final decision.
DATES AND SALARY INFORMATION:
All summer staff are expected to be here for the entire time they are hired unless special permission is granted in writing by Triple R Ranch prior to the beginning of camp. All senior staff are required to attend the training session June 6 – June 17, 2018, unless special permission is granted.
The dates for summer camp weeks are as follows:
You are encouraged to work the whole summer, however, you may let us know in advance if you cannot work during certain sessions. You are expected to follow through with your commitment to the sessions you have chosen to work.
Salaries for Summer Staff members at the Triple R Ranch begin at $200 per week. In addition to their regular salary, they receive housing and meals. Normal taxes will be deducted from all staff member's salary. Transportation to and from camp is the staff member's responsibility.
SUMMER POSITIONS AVAILABLE:
The direct ministry to the campers is carried on primarily through Camp Counselors. They live with campers, teach activity classes, teach bible classes, and share experiences to build relationships. Counselors minister in two-person teams in a cabin setting to campers ages 7 -14. Counselors are with campers at all times throughout the work week but are allotted 2 hours off each morning from Counselor responsibilities.
Support Staff live and work with the Junior-Staff (high school aged staff). Support Staff work in their designated area and serve as mentors to high school students. All support staff are required to participate in the Junior Staff Program each evening. Those interested in working with and ministering primarily to teenagers should apply in the following areas:
Lifeguards are responsible for the day-to-day upkeep of the pool and overseeing all morning, afternoon, and evening swim times. This person must have up-to-date Lifeguard certification at the start of summer camp. Hours vary throughout the week but applicants should expect 8 hours of pool responsibilities each day. The Kitchen Staff work under the direct supervision of the Food Service Director and are responsible for institutional cooking and total meal preparation. Food service experience is not required. Kitchen Staff generally work two of the three meals per day and work roughly 8 hours per day.
The Maintenance Staff work under the direction of our full-time maintenance staff. This position includes operating small machinery such as lawnmowers, weed eaters, blowers, etc. Maintenance keeps up repairs on camp equipment. Work is generally outdoors and may require lifting up to 40lbs. Work hours during the work day are generally 9:00am – 5:00pm.
The Barn Staff works under the direct supervision of the Horsemanship Director to take care of over 50 horses at Triple R Ranch. They are responsible for feeding, grooming, tacking, and daily barn chores. Barn staff may be assigned to teach horseback riding lessons, assist campers on trail rides, or teach small animal classes. Hours vary between assignments throughout the week. Barn staff should expect to work between the hours of 6:00am – 3:00pm.
Nature Instructor oversees all nature classes and assists in various afternoon electives. They will be responsible for nature supplies, animal care, and equipment upkeep. Nature staff should expect to work from 9:00am – 5:00pm
Skill Area Instructor
Skill Area Instructors oversee activities and equipment that warrants a higher degree of safety (ropes, rifles, etc.). The Skill Area Instructors teach morning skill areas and afternoon classes of their assigned areas. Skill Area staff should expect to work from 9:00am - 5:00pm
Trading Post Manager
The Trading Post Manager is responsible for the camp store area. His/her responsibilities include keeping up inventory of merchandise and candy, cleaning and restocking camp store as needed. The Trading Post Manager should expect to work from 9:00am - 5:00pm with occasional earlier hours as needed.
